Being a military spouse requires a lot of sacrifice and in doing so, can often put your needs on the back-burner. When you are doing this on a consistent basis resentment towards your spouse is common. And yes, you may have understood what marrying a military member would ask of you, however that doesn’t negate your difficult feelings while going through it.

First of all, you are not alone. Second, these spouses you are referring to are most likely in either the 1) haven’t been in the unit long enough phase so the stress hasn’t had a chance to build; 2) they are coming out of the struggle phase; or 3) are keeping it to themselves for a multitude of reasons to include privacy concerns. The point is that you are not alone, this lifestyle is hard, and there is hope.

Short answer yes. Long answer is that depending on the type of career you have it may require some creativity to get you there. So many military spouses go on to have very successful businesses and careers and are often sought after due to their resiliency and ability to work great under pressure.
